2nd Annual Gingerbread House Contest

12/21/2017

The 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Contest included four entries. The leading entries were the Speech and Debate Club led by Mr. Fosco, and the History Club led by Mr. Reyes. Last year, Mr. Reyes and Mr. Fosco worked together on a Mayan ruin, but this year they challenged it other to a “Club War.” The Speech and Debate Club had an early start on a Clipper ship by using hot glue. Mr. Reyes objected to the use of non-edible glue in the project. Ms. Celso, the school librarian and the organizer of the event, responded, “There is no rule that says that.” The smell of hot glue soon filled the IMC.
The History Club chose to depict Washington DC Monuments, including Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials and the Washington Monument. The winner of the gingerbread contest will be announced at the pep rally.
